For many families including my own, Rice Oriental was a favorite variety of Hamburger Helper. It’s been out of production for many years, and there are many recipes posted that imitate it. This is one of them.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess grease.

  2. Add remaining ingredients to the cooked meat and mix well. Bring mixture to a boil.

  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes or until rice is cooked and most of the liquid has been absorbed.

Notes

Dinner suggestion: to make a more complete meal, add frozen peas during the last few minutes of cooking
