Why is it any dish with cumin or chili powder in it is automatically assumed to be "Texan"? Maybe someday I'll figure it out. In the meantime, if you need a meal you can put together quickly that feeds a crowd, give this a try. But be warned: you're going to need a very large stock pot to hold it all!

In a large skillet, sauté the onions over medium-high heat 3-4 minutes or until translucent. Add the ground beef and cook 6-8 minutes or until no longer pink, breaking the meat into crumbles while cooking. Add the sausage and cook 2-3 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges. Remove from heat and drain off any excess grease.
In a very large stock pot add garlic, potatoes, tomatoes, Ro*Tel, pinto beans, frozen vegetables, cumin, chili powder, and water. Stir to combine. Add meat mixture and stir until well blended.
Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper as desired.
