In a large skillet, add onions, water, soy sauce, parsley, basil, and garlic powder. Cook over high heat for 3-5 minutes or until most of the liquid has cooked off.
3 Add ground beef to the skillet and mix thoroughly. Cook about 10 minutes or until the meat has browned. While the meat is cooking, set the oven to Broil. When finished cooking, drain off any excess grease.
4 Split the hoagie rolls and lay them flat on a baking sheet. Generously spread sauce over both halves and place cheese on the top half. Broil the rolls in the oven for 1-2 minutes or until the cheese melts. Add ground beef mixture, fold the tops over, and serve.

Notes
- This recipe makes a lot more sauce than is needed for the sandwiches. You can either reduce the amount of sauce made or refrigerate the extra to use later.
- You can substitute other cheeses (Cheddar, American, etc.) for the Swiss cheese if desired
