I know what you're thinking... "What's so special about this? I had 'Beanie Weenies' all the time when I was a kid." Well, I did too. Sometimes, you just want to have a little something that reminds you of when times were a little simpler, and the worries of the world were left on your doorstep when you came in for supper.
There are many different ways you can change this recipe to suit your tastes (unlike the canned stuff you can buy in the grocery store). Check the notes at the bottom of the recipe card for suggestions. Any way you make it, I hope you enjoy the trip down memory lane... and maybe make some new memories for your family.

In a medium skillet heat oil on medium-high heat. While heating, cut the hot dogs into 1/4-inch thick disks.
Add onion and hot dogs to skillet and cook for about 5 minutes or until hot dogs begin to brown and onion turns translucent. Add garlic and cook one additional minute.
Add beans, molasses, ketchup, mustard, cayenne pepper, and vinegar. Stir to combine.
Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Check taste and season with salt and pepper if desired before serving.
