It looks like lasagna, but I promise it's really spaghetti!

Adapted from Spend With Pennies

Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 2 jars pasta sauce (16 oz. each)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 can petite diced tomatoes, undrained (14.5 oz.)
  • 16 ounces spaghetti, cooked
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.

  2. Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef, onion, bell pepper, garlic, and salt. Cook until meat is browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Drain excess grease.

  3. Add pasta sauce, Italian seasoning, and tomatoes to the meat mixture. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  4. Prepare spaghetti according to package directions.

  5. Drain and rinse spaghetti, then add to the pot with the sauce mixture. Add parsley, then stir to combine well.

  6. Pour spaghetti into a 9 x 13 casserole dish and spread evenly. Top with cheeses.

  7. Bake 25-30 minutes or until hot and cheese is browned and bubbly. Cut into squares to serve.
